If Lord Shri Ram and Hanumanji had also seen this film, they would have laughed a lot and would have forgiven the makers of the film.
The scene is that Angad reaches Ravana. Advises to return Sita. Ravana reaches the battlefield sitting on his giant bat. Only then Meghnad comes with Sita. Like Madhubala of Mughal Azam, Sita chained in handcuffs and chains. Meghnad presses a button near Sita’s neck and the fetters are released. Sita runs towards Rama in slow motion and Rama towards Sita. Before the two can meet, Meghnad grabs Sita from behind and puts a dagger on her neck. Like in common movies, the villain puts a knife on the heroine’s throat. So Meghnad does not keep the knife, he slits the throat.
The onlookers wake up saying, Oh God, what is he showing, what is he getting to see. Sita’s murder in Lanka..? The scene progressed. Sita’s throat is cut, she is bleeding, she would have fallen earlier, Ram held her in his arms. Sita’s eyes are closing, suddenly laughter resounds, Sita’s smile is visible and Ram has a demon instead of Sita in his hand. Ravana laughs at such a spin of Ram.
In the film Adipurush made on the war of Ram Ravana, there are many such strange incidents. Sometimes it seems that Maharishi Valmiki and Saint Tulsidas had hidden some facts from the world, which Om Raut has exposed. For example, Sushen Vaidya did not tell the address of Sanjivani Booti to Hanuman, but this work was done by Vibhishan’s beautiful wife. It was Vibhishan’s wife who cured Laxman by getting the herb crushed and extracting its juice. Not only this, Vibhishan had not told Ram about the nectar in Ravana’s navel, but had told that Meghnad could only be killed under water. That is, the theory that Meghnad’s head was cut off and fell in Sulochana’s lap was completely wrong. Laxman killed Meghnad by strangling him underwater.
Ram with moustache, Ravana in Aurangzeb’s look in modern hairstyle, Laxman with beard and Hanuman ji in the film Adipurush have such tapori type dialogues that don’t ask. Before burning Lanka, Hanuman says to Meghnad – Your father’s cloth, your father’s oil, your father’s fire, your father’s will also burn. Meghnad says to Hanuman who reached Ashok Vatika – what is your aunt’s garden, who came to eat air. Explaining to Ravana, Mandodari says – You are spreading the carpet for your time. Hanuman ji says – Those who touch our sisters, they will be taken to Lanka. Meghnad has a dialogue – One of my friends made your sheshnag longer. Now the whole box is full. I bow down again and again to Shukla ji, the author of such timeless dialogues. Salute to his WhatsApp University as well, from which he has given many dialogue chaps. The clumsiness with which the dialogues of Treta Yugin story are written,
There are some new things in Adipurush as well, that’s fine too. Vibhishan was Ravana’s younger brother in the Ramayana serial, but Ravana looked much younger, Vibhishan’s hair was half cooked, his mustache was ripe. But Adipurush’s Vibhishan is a very young man, he drinks wine with Ravana in a black glass of wine. Vibhishana also has a beautiful wife, who is very intelligent. Mandodari has often been shown as fat in serials or films, whereas Mandodari itself means one who has a small abdomen, that is, with a thin waist. So Adipurush’s Mandodari is beautiful, she is slim. The film’s Shoorpanakha is also fair-skinned and beautiful.
Ravana is burnt every year in India, yet he is said to be a great scholar and a great devotee of Shiva. It has been properly established in the film. Ravan’s entry takes place while doing tapasya. Brahma grants a boon to Ravana who is doing penance on an icy mountain. After this Ravana sits in front of the huge Shivling built in the palace and plays something like Veena or violin, playing it so loudly that the fingers get injured, the string also breaks. Ravana of Adipurush does not sit on the golden throne, he sits either in the temple of Bholenath or on the terrace of the palace. Ravana also takes snake massage. He gets his massage done by dozens of pythons.
Ravan of Adipurush is Karmayogi, frugal. He has Pushpak Viman, but probably because of the high prices of diesel-petrol, he does not use them, instead flying a giant carnivorous bat as his ride. The reins of the bat are in the hands of Ravana. His back is flat, on which Ravana brought Sita Maiya to Lanka by laying her down.
Ravana is self-sufficient. He does not rely on his servants to sharpen his sword, he himself sharpens it by hammering. Not only this, he also feeds meat to his vehicle bat with his own hands. Apart from demons, Ravana also has a huge army of bats. Adipurush’s Ravana moves in a strange way. There is a gap between the two legs, some walk with a limp or swing. A bystander sitting next to him said – Ravana seems to have got bloody piles.
In one scene, Ravana goes to persuade Sita, then while persuading, he folds his hands. A voice comes from the hall – Hey, this is not Kareena, it is Mother Sita.
There was a Chhabile Baba in Ayodhya. He used to narrate Ram Katha in a few lines-
Ram Ravanna Dui Janna. One Chhatri, one Babhanna.
Vaa stole his slogan. Then there was a fight between the two.
That’s all, Tulsia Pothanna composed on this.
(Ram and Ravana were two people, one a Kshatriya, the other a Brahmin. The Brahmin abducted his wife, on which both fought. This is the only story on which Tulsidas has composed such a thick pothi)
Om Raut has composed Adipurush on such a two line story. If you go thinking about Ramayana, you will be deeply disappointed, you will be sad, you will beat your head, but if you go for entertainment, you will get complete entertainment. VFX and special effects are amazing. The pace of the film is very fast. The acting of some actors is also fine. What has kept Prabhash in the role of Ram a little too stable is the heavy and serious voice of Sharad Kelkar. Otherwise, the character of Ravana is heavy on Ram in the film.
Sometimes Ram used to give political benefits. But now the whole country has become Rammay, so Ram is becoming a profitable deal for filmmakers as well. Adipurush has been created with the aim of earning several thousand crores. In the beginning there was a controversy over its teaser, then the makers of the film were careful. Ram’s name is not mentioned in the film. In the film, Ram is called as Raghav, Laxman as Shesh, Sita as Janaki, Hanuman as Bajrang. The song of Ram Siyaram Siyaram Jai Jai Ram definitely plays in the bus background. In the recent times slogans of Jai Shri Ram, Jai Bajrangbali and Har Har Mahadev were also echoed. That means the film is a superhit, know for sure.
When he went out after watching the film, YouTubers surrounded him for bites. One asked – Has this film hurt the sentiments of Hindus? I said – the sentiments of Hindus are not so weak that they get hurt on every talk. Ram does not belong only to Hindus. Moderate Muslims also believe in Lord Ram. Ram belongs to everyone. Ram is happy in everyone’s mind. If Lord Shriram and Hanuman would have seen this film made in the name of Ram, they would have laughed a lot and would have forgiven the makers of the film.
